The Richmond Jazz and Music Festival will return to Maymont in August with a sensational lineup. The festival celebrates music, art, and community, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
This year’s festival will be held on August 9th, 10th, and 11th, and features dozens of artists, including Ludacris, Fantasia, Monica, and Wyclef Jean. Festivalgoers will also enjoy the legendary rhythms of Lee Ritenour and Bob James. Fans of jazz vocalists will appreciate the voices of Andra Day, Terisa Griffin and Gregory Porter.
"For me, this takes me back to my Jazz roots. My calling in high school was Jazz. This is where I became the captain of the jazz band. I produce most of my music from the space of jazz fusion and I'm inspired by Quincy Jones and Miles Davis. This is an honor. I look forward to collaborating with the incredible artists participating this year,” Jean said.
The mix of jazz, blues, R&B, and hip-hop is sure to appeal to every music enthusiast. The festival is also a foodie haven, with a variety of food trucks offering everything from local flavors to international cuisine. Festivalgoers with a sweet tooth can relax in the chill zone and enjoy treats and frozen desserts to cool off between performances.
A marketplace will showcase local art, handcrafted jewelry, unique pottery, handmade candles and more.
