The TSA PreCheck program is expanding to include four new airlines, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently announced. With the addition of Aer Lingus, Air New Zealand, Ethiopian Airlines, and Saudia, nearly 100 airlines now participate in the program.
The TSA PreCheck program allows low-risk travelers to enjoy expedited security screening at over 200 U.S. and state territory airports. Passengers in the program can keep their shoes, belts, and jackets on and are not required to remove laptops, some liquids, and food items from their carry-on bags. About 99% of TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes in airport checkout lines.
TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers departing from participating airports or on domestic flights after returning from the U.S. from a foreign airport.
Travelers who are U.S. citizens, U.S. Nationals, or permanent U.S. residents can apply for PreCheck and can pick an enrollment provider based on cost, location, and additional benefits.
Teens between the ages of 13 and 17 can accompany TSA PreCheck enrolled parents or guardians through expedited screening when traveling on the same reservation.
